1973 Dodge Charger
This is basically a second owner car. My Dad bought it in 1990 from the original owner and it had a little over 83,000 miles on it. It was bone stock, with a tan vinyl top and tan interior, 318 2V, A904 trans, and A/C. The only cosmetic problem was a palm sized dent in the rear deck lid just above one of the tail lights. My Dad and I added a set of headers, mild cam, 600 Holley, and intake. When my Dad passed away in 1991, I kept the car and turned it into what it is today. I bought most of the parts from Hayes Chrysler in Lawrenceville, GA. In fact, if it doesn't have a Mopar Performance part on it, it's because they didn't offer one. In '94, the entire car was stripped down and bead blasted (not sand blasted) and painted a burgundy pearl variation of '93 Thunderchicken red. It won a couple of first and second place awards at local shows in the late '90's, but I'm most proud of the third place it won in the modified division of the 1998 Hayes Chrysler Mopar Meet at Atlanta Dragway. I'm not a drag racer by any means, but it ran a best of 12.87/104mph while I was tuning the carb. Not bad for a 4000 pound grocery getter.
